For seekers of secrets of secret circles
Among the researchers of the subject, the most common thesis is that the cradle of the Goths was Scandinavia, especially the area of southern Sweden and the Baltic islands, including Gotland and Skandzka. Skandzka Island was located closest to the mouth of the Vistula. The Goths, in search of new lands to live in, embarked on a journey, crossed the Baltic Sea in boats, and that’s how they came to us. They went towards the Kashuby and Krajenskie Lake Districts. They stayed here for about 200 years, and then set off on another journey.
With their arrival around the 1st century AD, cemeteries appeared with burial mounds, stone pavements, stone circles and graves marked with Stones stellas. According to Ryszard Wolagiewicz’s discovery, the stone circles did not have a burial function, and the burial relicts are most probably the pieces of what was left from the religious or ritual ceremonies.
The secret hidden in the stone circles, called the Polish Stonhange, can be discovered during a trip to them, it is worth getting to know:
- the stone circles in Wesiory, three very regular stone circles have been preserved, and around 20 burial mounds (Suleczyno area),
- stone circles in Odry in Bory Tucholskie – there are 10 whole circles and fragments of the others.
- Stone circles in Lesno (Brusy area) – 13 burial mounds and 15 stone wreaths were discovered.
According to dowsers, energy lines run through the stone circles and that they have healing properties, check it out for yourself.
For persistent walkers
A walk towards the “moving” dunes in the Slowinski National Park. The pace of escape in our eyes is not spectacular, it is the wind that drives the moving “sandy mountains”. They move east at a speed of several meters per year, burying the forests they encounter. Near Leba there is the largest dune area with an area of approx. 500 ha. The highest Lacka dune is currently about 30 meters high.
Climbing the dune and looking at the vastness of the sand will probably provide a lot of impressions. However, the contrasting color of the water of Lebsko Lake and the Baltic Sea gives us the feeling that we are not in a desert.
To get to the dune from the car park at the entrance to the Slowinski National Park, you can take a melex car, bike, or go on foot for a distance of over 7 km. Attractions along the way are: a wooden viewing platform, a film in a branch of the Natural History Museum, a geomorphological exhibition entitled “Dunes”, Museum “Rocket Launcher”.
For persistent walkers, there is an 18-kilometre walking route along the green trail from Stara Leba (Turystyczna Street) along the seashore to the Lacka dune and then back through the forest.
