The edifice of the 1st General Secondary School in Lębork

The grand edifice, currently housing the 1st General Secondary School and the Economics and Trade Schools Complex, was erected between 1926 and 1929 to a design by two architects – Mohr and Weidner from Berlin’s Charlottenburg. Its façade is made of dark, non-plastered brick which forms a massive pile at the front, where the top middle part ends with an octagonal clock tower and a viewing deck. The only elements adorning this rather austere building are the medallions with sculptured female heads placed over the auditorium windows (from the west) and over the main entrance (on the eastern façade).
