The Corner Tower (Brama Narożna) in Gdańsk

The typical form of the tower, rectangular with truncated corners, was due to the building’s location at the point of contact of the southern and western lines of the town walls.

Initially, its structure was open from the direction of the town, but later it was rebuilt and reinforced numerous times. The exterior walls were decorated with ogival blind windows, in which the portholes were made.
