The wreck of the “Kujawiak” submarine

It was a small submarine launched in 1949 and used by the USSR Baltic Navy. Handed over to Poland in 1955, it served here until 1966 as the third Polish vessel bearing the name “Kujawiak”.

After drowning on the Rybitwa Mielizna (Mewia Rewa) shoal, it was used as a bomb testing ground by the air force and the navy.

Kujawiak’s hull has stood the test of time and is available for tourists who, however, must have some diving skills to reach it.
