The modern-day look of the palace dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It was erected on the site of a former 14th-Century fortified structure. The modern construction encompasses relics of the old castle such as Gothic cellars, some elements of the ground floor and the system of moats. Its surroundings are overgrown with a magnificent old-growth forest with numerous nature monuments (horse chestnuts, small-leaved lime, eastern white pine, hornbeams, beech trees, and plane trees).
