St. Nicholas’ Church in Gniew

The Patron Saint of the church, St. Nicholas, is the guardian of sailors and merchants. The building was erected between the 14th and 15th Centuries. Its interiors, however, in majority come from the 19th Century and are typical of the Gothic Revival. The church is surrounded by many mysteries. Recent discoveries include an under-floor crypt with the remnants assumedly belonging to the Radziwiłł family, and some wall paintings. The Teutonic castle aside, it is the finest monument in the city.
