The lake is located in a large glacial trough that stretches from Gowidlino to Sulęczyno (a typical meridional arrangement). It has a winding shoreline (with a length of more than 21 km) that is high. Indeed, here and there, its steep shores are sometimes hard to reach. The water level is at the height of 165.1 metres. The lake’s picturesque, forested peninsulas and the Ostrów islands can be accessed by water. Throngs of tourists seeking relaxation by the lake can find accommodation right on the lake shore. The most popular resorts are Lemany, Gowidlinko, Gowidlino and Amalka. The lake also hosts the popular “Kartuzy District Governor Cup” regatta.
