It is an example of applying Gothic Revival to secular architecture. In terms of style the building is in harmony with the form of the City Hall, although it exhibits heavier ornamentation and diversity of architectural details. Its regular construction is crowned with a polygonal tower with a staircase, topped with a coniform cupola, partly embedded into the eastern corner of the facade. The interior of the structure was rebuilt in the 1970s and adapted to the modern standards of handling postal services.
