So far, we have been sailing in internal sea waters. It's time to sail out to the open sea - direction: Wladysławowo.
We sail around the Hel Peninsula and head west. We have 18 nautical miles of sailing along the peninsula ahead of us (assuming that the wind is favourable), we are heading for the Wladysławowo buoy (WŁA). After passing it, the safe course is 260, it is also determined by the leading light. At the level of the right head of the breakwater, we head towards the entrance to the port (before entering any port, we encourage you to read the detailed maps, and you will learn about any navigation warnings on the website of the Hydrographic Office).
Parking spaces, Y-boms, are located at the yacht quay (a separate part of the port of Wladysławowo – the largest fishing port in Poland) – there are not many of them. The parking price includes access to water and electricity. We can call the boatswain’s office on VHF channel 10. Due to the fact that we are still in the fishing port, every day we will have the opportunity to hear fishing boats, especially those returning from fishing, thanks to the seagulls accompanying them. Every day at the quay you can buy fresh fish straight from the boat.
After a hard cruise, we recommend a visit to the Olympic Preparation Center in Cetniewo, where available to external guests are, among others: swimming pool, sauna, cryogenic chamber and tennis courts. Due to its location, Port of Wladysławowo is a very popular and frequently visited place by sailors, especially those sailing further afield.
The last yacht port on the Pomorskie part of the coast is Leba. As we approach the entrance, we look for the Leba buoy and then the sector light visible between the heads. If the conditions are good, the approach should not be difficult, it is a good idea to report your intention to enter the port (VHF 12, 16) or the marina (VHF 12, 16, 17) – you will get all the information about the approach conditions here.
There are withdrawals near the port, which unfortunately surprised many yachts due to poor conditions and large waves. The yacht port is a comprehensively equipped facility and, according to many sailors, still one of the best on the Polish coast. The city encourages with a rich tourist offer, which you can read more about here. We recommend the only and the largest 3D maze in Poland and visiting the famous moving dunes located in the Slowiński National Park.
