Castle Museum
Castle Museum – Malbork Castle was the most powerful fortress in medieval Europe. The origins of the stronghold date back to the second half of the 13th century. From 1309, Malbork was the seat of the great masters of the Teutonic Order and for almost 150 years the capital of one of the most powerful countries of that time.
It is the largest Gothic brick castle complex in the world, with an area of about 21 hectares, a masterpiece of defensive and residential architecture of the late Middle Ages. In 1997, the Malbork Castle was inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Latin school
The Latin school was built in 1352 by the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order, Winrich von Kniprode. The facility was erected on the slope at the Nogat river near the Malbork castle. From the second half of the 16th century to 1864, there was a school there, called from 1603 the Latin School. After that time, the school was moved to another place, and the abandoned building was used as flats and utility warehouses.
In 1899, the monument was partially burnt down during a town fire. It was rebuilt, but in 1945 it was destroyed again as a result of warfare. The city obtained funds for the next reconstruction in 2010, the work began in autumn 2011. The building was put into use in October 2014. Currently, it is part of the Malbork Center for Culture and Education. There are: Open-Air Museum of Old Crafts, Mediateka, Multicentrum, multifunctional hall, astronomical observatory and planetarium.

The Monument of King Jagiellonian and the Fountain
When King Kazimierz Jagiellończyk bought the Malbork castle, the city and the stronghold are over 300 years old (with some breaks) and passed into Polish hands.
The statue of the king on horseback commemorates his symbolic arrival at the castle in 1457. The multimedia fountain in its vicinity resounds with music every few hours and enchants with colors in the evening. The colorful fountain forms the shape of a sword and a knight’s shield, which refers to the medieval times so important in the history of Malbork.
