The Spa House in Brzezno is the oldest preserved example of original spa infrastructure not only in Gdansk, but on the entire coast of the Bay of Gdansk.
From the history pages
It was built in 1893 as a three-block building on a rectangular plan, with a representative central part, two symmetrical side wings and wooden verandas. In 1899, the building was enlarged by adding a brick building on the eastern side.
The facility offered rooms for summer visitors as well as baths and therapeutic diets. It survived the war in 1945 without major damage, and in the first post-war years it served as a place to organize training courses for nurses. Until around 1950, the Spa House housed the Garrison Hotel, and in 1959 social housing was set up.

In 1993, the former Spa House complex was listed on the register of historical monuments. In 2016, Gdansk authorities decided to revitalize it, entrusting this task to Hevelianum. In December 2021, the Spa House reopened its doors to residents and tourists, becoming a space for ecological education, with hotel rooms and a restaurant.

Current activity
- The program activities have been organized according to different themes in each month, for example January is the month without plastic, March – the month of the Baltic Sea, and October – the month of animals. Thematic ecological workshops are aimed at both families with children and school groups. Guided tours of the facility are held periodically, and you can also see a free outdoor exhibition telling about its history.
- An open theatre group is being created, in which the local community will prepare a performance based on their memories of Brzezno. It is planned to create an outdoor classroom as an important space for environmental education in the park adjacent to the Spa House.
- The Spa House also offers the possibility of organizing birthday parties for children and renting conference rooms.
