“Milosna”, Kwidzyn horses galloping… and more!

There is no time for boredom here. In Milosna you can ride a pony or a horse, see animals in the Mini Zoo, take part in horse competitions, see a horse carousel, organize a party under a shelter, you can also spend the night here - all this and many more attractions await you just 3 km from Kwidzyn.

Where did these horses come from?

  • Already in 1788, Frederick II the Great agreed to establish a Stallion Stud in Kwidzyn in order to supply stallions to nearby provinces. Until 1888, the herd was located in the outer bailey of the Pomesan Chapter Castle in Kwidzyn and could accommodate about 100 stallions.
  • Over time, the area in front of the Castle turned out to be insufficient, so the herd was moved to the suburbs with access to green areas. The infrastructure of the new center was being built here – three stables, an indoor riding school, a tower with a windmill, and a housing estate for employees.
  • At the end of the war, the Kwidzyn horses were evacuated. However, its post-war history began already in 1946. The fate of the then Training Center was different. In 1999, when the Kwidzyn State Treasury Stallion Stud was established. In April 2001, the facility was handed over to the Municipality of Kwidzyn.

This is a special proposition to meet the problems that pet owners often face – they have to go away… but without their pet. What to do if there is no one to leave him with? In Milosna, you can safely leave your pet here under careful care.

There is also an Adopciaki Kwidzyn association on the premises – you can adopt an animal, go for a walk with it or support it in various ways (which we encourage you to do).
