The Skarszów Dolny hydroelectric power plant on the Skotawa

For many years the facility was a hydro plant propelling the machines and appliances in the nearby ironware factory, and from 1872 in the paper mill. The factory was destroyed by a fire in 1984, and a hydroelectric plant was created on its foundations, with the current power of 160 KW. The facility went through modernisation during the war (1942-1943), and in 1955 a new concrete weir was added. The structure is composed of a three-span regulating weir which has a length of 6.30 m, a more than 1200 m-long approach flume, and a 40 m-long tressle for the power plant’s two Francis turbines.
