After the appearance of modern fortifications, the Gate was given a different function and became a powder magazine. Partly destroyed during World War II, it was rebuilt and subsequently renovated. At present, it is located in the Stare Przedmieście (the Old Suburbs), in the vicinity of the Marshal’s Office and the Small Armoury.
