Logistics

Trains run to both Slupsk and Ustka. However, with the difference that Slupsk is, according to PKP classification as a railway station of the voivodeship category and Ustka of the tourist category. This means that Slupsk can be reached from several large Polish cities, e.g. from the Tri-City, Warsaw, Poznan or Szczecin, while Ustka serves only a connection with Slupsk all year round. During the holiday season, however, trains from other regions of the country (for example from Warsaw) come to Ustka. However, you should check the schedule beforehand, as they are not always repeatable every year.

Characteristics, mileage, tips

The Ustka – Slupsk section has been designated as the R10 connecting route with an important transport hub, which is Slupsk. Apart from the cities of Ustka and Slupsk, it also covers the rural communes of Slupsk and Ustka. The trail reaches almost to the very door of the Slupsk railway station. For the most part, it runs along bicycle paths or specially designated lanes for bicycle traffic along district roads. In the section near Wodnica, the trail uses the local road for general traffic. Despite the fact that the nature of the route is rather communication, the high sightseeing value of this section is the course through the villages of the so-called Checkered Land, i.e. the area around Slupsk abounding in half-timbered rural buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries. In some towns, you can also find interesting sacral monuments and even a small zoo.

Possible difficulties

Little. Be careful only on the section with bicycle traffic on general terms in the vicinity of Wodnica. However, there is very little traffic there. Perhaps some fragments will still be in progress, which may affect the safety and smoothness of bicycle traffic.
