Catholic, Protestant, Mennonite, Jewish, Orthodox, and also military. The gravestones, epitaphs, and mausoleums are tokens of the turbulent history of the region.

The Mennonite cemetery in Szaleniec

A small Mennonite cemetery located near the main road in the village.

It was founded at the end of the 18th Century. Several stately, vertical steles with very visible writing and rich symbolic tracery have survived to this day. The oldest of the gravestones comes from the early 19th Century.
