Corpus Christi Church in Jasień

Jasień is a picaresque place located on the east bank of the Jasień River, in the commune of Czarna Dąbrówka.

The Jasień temple was built in 1699 by the local heir Mikołaj Wawrzyniec von Wussow, as the court chapel. In 1810, the building was renovated and expanded. The Evangelical parish was founded in Jasień near the end of the 19th Century. The church in Jasień has a framework construction with brick filling. It originally had one aisle, which was later expanded with a small annex. The east part of the temple is finished with three sides, with a square tower on the west side of the temple.

The interior of the church hosts a Mannerist altar and a Baroque baptism font from the 17th Century, pulpit from the beginnings of the 19th Century, while the bell in the church tower was created in 1584 and originates from the first church in Jasień.

To see this unique structure, you can visit Jasień at any time of the year, but the biggest attractions take place in July, during the staging of a traditional Kashubian wedding, or in September, during the „Theatrical Jasień” a one-of-a-kind event promoting stage art.
