Kania Lodge is an award winning boutique hotel in the Kaszubian lake district less than an hour's drive from Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia and just 30 minutes from the ariport.
It's 15 stylish rooms and suites include two-bedroom family accommodation and a a luxurious secluded villa overlooking both lake and the lodge's vineyard. Many of the rooms and suites have private terraces and individual fireplaces. All have views of the extensive landscaped gardens and the lake.
Amenities include tennis court, private jetty and beach, boats, bicycles, sauna and jacuzzi spa and conference room. There's also broadband internet connection.
The restaurant serves highly praised food and has what the New York Wine Spectator calls "one of the best restaurant wine lists in the world." There are more than 250 wines from around the world to choose from and guests are also offered a taste of the wines produced in the lodge's small vineyard.
The lodge also produces a premium craft vodka which is sold world-wide under its export label, Vestal.. You'll find Vestal in fine establishments like the Ritz in Paris and the Savoy and Claridges in London. It's also served in Poland's first Michelin star restaurant, Amaro in Warsaw, and is available at the Wine Express store in Gdynia.
Kania Lodge was built and opened more than 20 years ago by the owners John and Ania Borrell. John is a former war correspondent with Time Magazine and has written of the evolution of the lodge and other Polish businesses in his book, The White Lake, which was first published in London in 2014. It's also available in Polish as "Nad Jeziorem Bialym."
