"The Kaszubskie Oko” (“Kashubian Eye”) recreational complex in Gniewino

The "Kaszubskie Oko" complex hais in the form of an eye. Its core element is the "pupil", which is the observation tower standing on the mound,

and there are also flowerbeds forming the "retina" and wooden pergolas representing the profile of the eyelashes.

The recreational elements of the Kashubian Eye are an 18-hole mini-golf course, a field chessboard, a standard children's playground in the form of a Pirate Ship, and a rope playground designed for older children. The life-size models of dinosaurs (such as Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex), and of Stolems - the giants of Kashubian folklore - that are found here, are also very popular. The most recent attraction of the facility is a 7.4 meter tall climbing wall.

The tower (which is shaped in the form of an hourglass) sits upon a mound overgrown with plants. Inside the tower there are office rooms, a tourist information point, a souvenir shop and a large hall in which various exhibitions and interesting facts are presented. The total height of the tower with its spire is 44 m. The viewing platform can be reached by walking up 212 stairs, or by using a lift which goes up 36 m.

From here, on a clear day, you can see the Baltic Sea and the morainic hills of Żarnowieckie Lake. It is also possible to notice from here the remains of the famous uncompleted nuclear power plant. Also worth seeing is the the upper reservoir (with an area of 122 ha) of Poland's largest pumped-storage hydroelectricity plant, as well as a wind farm with 21 units.
